Tom was born on September 30, 1950 in the Army Hospital at Ft. Eustis, VA to First Lieutenant Harvey Ward Green and Billie Camille Green. Tom’s father retired from the military when he was 3 and the family moved to the Seattle area. During Tom’s grade school years the family lived in several locations in the Pacific Northwest including Eugene, Spokane, and Meridian Idaho, his father’s birthplace. They moved to San Francisco the year Tom started high school, and he graduated in 1969 from high school in South San Francisco, CA.

Tom moved with his family to San Diego after graduation. It was there, at the age of 21, that he realized his need for salvation and a relationship with Jesus. It was less than a year later he met his future wife, Pat.

Tom married Patricia Kay Baughman October 19, 1974 in El Cajon, CA. He worked as a draftsman for several years. Eventually starting Green’s Oto Supplies in 1985 which manufactures products used in the hearing aid industry.

Tom and Pat moved their family and business to Sandpoint in 1993. He worked at Schweitzer Ski Resort, part-time for many years. He eventually volunteered with the Bonner County Search and Rescue, later becoming an EMT and working part-time at Big Sky Ambulance in Sandpoint for several years. He was a leader in Boy Scouts of America for the many years his sons were active participants. He also loved volunteering for many years at the Lost in the 50’s weekend events. Tom and Pat retired in 2017, after operating their business for 32 years, then selling it to their son Nathan.

Tom first went to Hawaii in 2003 and visited Kauai a few years later where he purchased a timeshare. He and Pat have enjoyed visiting there almost yearly and have enjoyed introducing friends and family to their beautiful paradise.

Tom had a strong faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and was active in his church homes, first at Northside Christian Fellowship and later at Mt. Springs Church in Sandpoint. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, needlepoint and reading.

Tom never met a stranger, because he made a friend of all those he knew. He was a loving and caring son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife Patricia Green of Sandpoint; three sons David (Erin) Green, Nathan (Cherise) Green, and Daniel Green; five grandchildren Isaac Green, Lydia Green, Lucas Green, Annie Green, and Maggie Green; brother Wayne “Bud” Green of Sagle, Idaho; and sister Kerri Green of La Mesa, CA,
