Laura Maxine Carver, 77, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025. Born on April 16, 1948, Laura lived a life marked by kindness, generosity, and a passion for sports. She touched the lives of many with her warm heart and unwavering willingness to help others.
Laura married her beloved husband, Thomas Lloyd Carver, on January 26, 1968, and together they built a life filled with love and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Karl Thompson Rettstatt and Maria Luisa Centenera Rettstatt. Laura is survived by her son, Karl (Kasey) Aden Carver and his wife, Paula, of Trophy Club, Texas; her three grandchildren: Keegan Carver of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; Kain Carver of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Kennedy Carver of Trophy Club, Texas; her sister, Karla (Larry) Hineman; and her brother, Mike (Lisa) Rettstatt.
A spirited athlete, Laura loved all sports but held a special place in her heart for softball, soccer, and bowling, where her passion and competitive spirit shone brightly. Her devotion to her friends and community was evident in her constant readiness to lend a helping hand, from player, referee, coach to league secretary and so much more. She leaves a lasting legacy of care and dedication .
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held Friday July 18 from 11am to 1pm at Fairfax Memorial Home 9902 Braddock Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Golden Girls (https://www.goldengirls.org) and/or NVSS (https://www.nvss.org/donations). Laura’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
