Robert "Bob" James Beattie

(June 13, 1929 - July 5, 2025)


Robert (Bob) James Beattie passed away on July 5, 2025, at St Mary’s Hospital, Camrose, Alberta, at the age of 96. Bob was born in Tubrose, Saskatchewan on June 13, 1929, to Andrew and Maude Beattie.


Bob married Frances Dyrland on October 18, 1957. They moved to Alberta in 1961 and over the years farmed in both Alberta and Saskatchewan. He was also a Master Electrician. They moved to Camrose in 2008. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren always gravitated to him, and he loved and enjoyed them all. His kind nature, smile and wonderful stories will be greatly missed.


Bob is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Frances; son Aaron Beattie (Bernadette Andrejiw); daughter Nadine (Larry) Patenaude; son Brent (Tracy) Beattie; grandchildren Jonathan (Amy) Monchak, Jennifer Monchak (Ryan Simms), Derek (Heather) Beattie, Ashley (Lucio) Pucci, Megan (Ryan) Strach, Hailee Andrejiw, and Matt, Dylan and Jake Ruzycki; great-grandchildren Anya, Avery and Ryder Monchak, Brooks and Rocco Pucci, Ellie and Noah Beattie, Theo Simms, and Parker and Addilee Strach; sisters-in-law Dolores Dyrland and Myrna Jackson; brothers-in-law Ronald Dyrland, and Stuart (Leslie) Dyrland; and many nieces and nephews.


He was predeceased by his father and mother Andrew and Maude Beattie; brother Jack Beattie; sister Helen Kassa; father and mother-in-law Ellert and Selma Dyrland; brothers-in-law Andrew Kassa, Vernon Dyrland, and Cecil Jackson; and sisters-in-law Beverly Dyrland and Dorthy Beattie.


A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 11, 2025 at Messiah Lutheran Church, 4810 - 50th Street Camrose, officiated by Rev. Bev Swanson.  The Service was livestreamed and can be viewed at the following link: Messiah Lutheran Church.   


If family and friends so desire, memorial contributions in Bob's memory may be made to the St. Mary's Hospital Camrose Foundation as well as Messiah Lutheran Church.
