Rita R. Wozniak, 89, of North Branford, formerly of Manor Drive, North Haven for many years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 5th, 2025, at the Whispering Pines, East Haven. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Wozniak. Rita was born in New Bedford, Massachusetts on March 23, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Stanislaw and Wladyslawa Sielawa Rolak. She had worked as a Teacher’s Aide at Montowese Elementary School for over 30 years until her retirement. Rita enjoyed fishing, gardening and polka dancing. She was a devoted and longtime parishioner of St. Therese Church, North Haven and was also a member of its Ladies Guild. Mother of Deborah Little (Owen) and Stephen Wozniak (Anne). Predeceased by her siblings Charles Rolak, Rev. Patrick Rolak, Irene Grynkiewicz and Edna Bobrowiecki.
The visiting hours will be Friday, July 11th from 5 to 7 PM at The Havens Family North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Avenue. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday morning, July 12th at 9:30. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at St. Therese Church, 555 Middletown Avenue, North Haven at 10:00. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
