Alex J. Bryfczynski Obituary

Alex J. Bryfczynski, age 91, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Emerald Bay.

Alex was born on July 9, 1933 in Pulaski to the late John and Susan (Strzelecki) Bryfczynski. He graduated with the class of 1952 from Pulaski High School and they were known as the “cream of the crop”. On April 12, 1958 he married the former Grace Niec. He served his country in the United States Army, serving during the Korean War, where he was stationed in Korea for two years. Alex worked in the Fort Howard Print Shop for 38 years. He was an active member of Nativity of our Lord Parish, and a member of Knights of Columbus and VFW. Alex was one moniker, he was also known as Whitey, Axel, and Sam. He was an avid golfer, card player, coin collector, and sports fan. He always had time to set aside for his grandchildren’s special events. He enjoyed traveling and exploring new places and cherished time with his family and friends and had a deep love for his family, faith and country.

Alex is survived by his loving wife: Grace Bryfczynski; children: Jane (Martin) School and Paul (Sheila) Bryfczynski; son-in-law: Andy Thor; grandchildren: Ben (Kelly) School; Sam (Rachel) Bryfczynski; and Erin (Steve) Lucas; great grandchildren: Max, Kinsley Grace, Rozlyn, Blake, Parker, Khiya, Kane, and Bray; brothers and sisters: Richard Bryfczynski, Jerry (Carol) Bryfczynski, Bob (Brenda) Bryfczynski, and Patti (Jim) Babiarz; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Yvonne Bryfczynski, Sandi Bryfczynski, Bud Werner, Sharon Bryfczynski, Don (Dottie) Niec, and Marvin (Debbie) Niec. He is preceded in death by his daughter: Amy Thor; grandson: William Bryfczynski; parents: John and Susan Bryfczynski; brothers and sisters: Stan Bryfczynski, Gene Bryfczynski, Eleanor Werner, Norbert Bryfczynski, Joseph (Karen) Bryfczynski, and Don Bryfczynski; sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Geraldine (Roger) Knope; and parents in law: Charles and Beatrice Niec.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025 at 11:00 am at Nativity of Our Lord Parish, 2270 S. Oneida St, with Rev. Matt Simonar officiating. Relatives and friends may greet the family on Friday at 9:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am.
