James Michael Sproat, age 68, of Schwenksville, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025. He was the beloved husband of Linda Diane (Lance) Sproat with whom he shared over 42 years of marriage.
Born July 10, 1956, in Pottstown, he was a son of the late Robert H. Sr. and Shirley (Boone) Sproat.
Jim attended Milton Hershey Boys School where he preferred working on the farm he attended from K-10th. He also played on the ice hockey team, and was a member of Peace In Zion U.C.C. where he was also on the church league bowling team. He went to tech school for plumbing and graduated from Boyertown High School class of 1974. Jim was well versed in handyman work; he was one of the construction workers that built Birchwood. He was also a member of the Schwenksville Fire Company for three years. In his spare time, he enjoyed puzzle books and other arts and crafts, the most recent being was diamond art. You could also find Jim enjoying watching his western and war time movies. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchild, Sophia. He was also a sports fan watching his favorite football, hockey and baseball Philly teams.
In addition to his wife Linda, James is survived by his children, Michael James Sproat and his wife, Brandi Nichole, Christopher William Sproat, Joanna Christine Sproat, and Jamie Lynn Sproat; granddaughter Sophia Jean Sproat; siblings Robert H. Sproat, Jr. and his fiancé, Barbara Hess, and Cyndi Carole Coleman and her husband, Paul J. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Faith Sproat; stepmother, Joan Faye (Bean) Sproat; and his cat, Boots.
A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at the R. L. Williams, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 3440 Skippack Pike Skippack, PA 19474, where friends may greet the family from 10-11 AM. Interment will be private.
