Thomas “Tom” Weiss passed away on July 5th, 2025 at the CHI Mercy Hospital in Williston, North Dakota.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 25th at 11:00 AM at the Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Church in Williston, with Pastor Greg Stenzel officiating the service. Burial will be held at Riverview Cemetery following the service.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24th from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, all are welcome to sign the guest book and leave condolences for his family.
Thomas “Tom” Robert Weiss, loving husband, brother and uncle was called to his heavenly home on July 5th, 2025. Tom was born on December 11th, 1953, he was the third child born to George and Olga (Heth) Weiss in Hettinger, ND.
He attended grade school in Williston, ND, at Lewis and Clark Elementary. In 1971 he graduated from Williston High School. Through his early years Tom was employed in several oilfield industries. He became an Amsoil Distributer in the early 1980’s, and proudly built up a very successful Amsoil company. In addition to this business he started Advanced Filtration Technologies and was officially incorporated in the year 2001. Over the years, both companies became very successful. In 2022, Tom sold the Amsoil business and officially retired.
In late 2012 Tom re-connected with the love of his life, Sandra Park, and they married in November of 2017. During their marriage, Tom enjoyed visiting Sandi’s family, especially her father, David.
Tom’s hobbies included being a professional camper, professional fisherman, grill master and hunter. In the summer months, he loved to camp in New Town. In his hunting career, he was unable to hunt moose, however, Sandi drew a tag for moose, and
Tom was able to teach her how to successfully shoot her own moose! Tom was a fan of the NDSU Bison, and the Vikings – when they would win! Tom enjoyed being around family and friends, especially during the holidays. A dream of Tom’s was to winter in warmer climates, but due to his cancer diagnosis he was not able to fulfill that dream.
Tom’s had a strong faith and believed in the powerful strength of the Lord. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. Tom was a firm believer in giving and receiving hugs. He will be missed by all who loved him.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, George and Olga Weiss.
Surviving Tom are his wife, Sandi, along with her children and grand-children; siblings, Kathy (Clair) Thorson, Carroll Weiss, Doug (Ingrid) Weiss, Nancy (Cal) Bauer; uncle, Ted (Barb) Weiss; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
