Anita Wood Pennington, 76, of Hickory, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at her residence.
She was born October 7, 1948 in Richland County, OH to the late Grayson A. Wood and Barbara Paige Wood.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Jay Pennington; her baby sister, Angie Justice; brothers Grady Wood and William Woods; nephew, Andrew K. Lybrand and numerous close friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are;
Son: David Pennington and wife Lisa of Jacksonville, NC
Daughters: Kimberly Pennington and wife Tabitha of Hickory
Monica Martin of Hickory
Sisters: Bonnie Nance and husband Billy of Ironton, OH
Connie Dickerson and husband Wayne of Ironton, OH
Grandchildren: Anna Allen-Pennington and Cody D. Pennington
Great-Grandchildren: Sam Pennington, Jonah Pennington, and Sean Christopher Markey Jr.
A private memorial service to celebrate Anita’s life will be held at a later date.
