William D. "Bill" Skiba Obituary

William D. Skiba (Bill) passed away at Hartford Hospital on Saturday July 5, 2025 at the age of 76. He was born February 8,1949, the son of Max and Loretta Skiba. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Susan Skiba and their daughter Tricia. He was predeceased by his oldest brother Francis (Butch) Skiba and his youngest sister Margaret Brassil and is survived by his sisters Maxine Brodeur of Southampton, Deborah Tully of Chicopee and his brother James Skiba of Holyoke and brother-in-law Timothy Brassil (Margaret) of Holyoke as well as several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He was Papi to Noah, Dylan and Gavin Rolon. Born and raised in Holyoke, he was a graduate of Holyoke Catholic High School and began his career in sales at National Blank Book before moving to his final position of Sales Manager for the Specialty Paper Division of Sonoco Products Co. before retiring in the early 2000’s. He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed vintage movies and playing with his fur babies Gabe and Griffin. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ASPCA or the American Heart Association in Bill’s name. There will be a Mass of Christian held on Friday July 11 at 9:00am in Immaculate Conception Church, 54 N Summer Street, Holyoke, followed by burial with committal prayers in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley. Visitation will take place Thursday July 10th from 4:00 to 7:00pm in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke.
