Garn Swenson, 95 years old, born April 13, 1930, passed away July 7, 2025.
He was so excited before he passed to see his baby girl, Lana, who passed away as a baby with a heart issue on March 7, 1962. He was also excited to see Flora, the love of his life. She passed away on January 1, 2025.
The fireworks were going off when Dad passed away because of the 4th of July, and when Flora passed, it was happening because of New Year’s.
Dad was married to Flora for 22 years and was proud to be a bonus dad and grandpa to the Law family. Dad loved this incredible Law family, and they loved him with all their hearts—they called him Bonus Dad, Dad, and Grandpa. Some of these grandkids never knew their grandpa who died earlier in their lives—only Garn—and they loved him!
Garn had five children: Rennett Rae, Raquel Swenson, Dwight Swenson, LaNae Swenson (deceased), and Michelle Campbell. Dad had so many grandkids and great-grandkids that loved him immensely.
Dad was a hardworking man who had many careers. Most of his life, he sold life insurance and annuities. In his younger years, with a young family, and married from September 21, 1955, to July 12, 1984, to Renee Oruin—the mother of his children—he owned a gas station and garage with his brother, LaVell Swenson. He also had a Japanese engine exchange, and his daughter and her husband, Dan and Michelle, helped him run that company.
Dad went on a mission to Sweden, and it was an amazing time in his life.
Dad had three friends all of his life, up to the day he died. They were the Three Musketeers: Garn Swenson, Paul Harris (deceased), and still living at 95 years old, LaDell Gillman. These three men have so many stories of life—they were like brothers and loved each other very much.
Our Dad, Grandpa, and friend will be just incredibly missed, but we know we will meet again.
We love our Dad and Grandpa so very much. He will be missed.
