David Louis Edwards Obituary

It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude that we announce the passing of David Louis Edwards, who departed this world on July 5, 2025, just days shy of his 76th birthday. Born on July 8, 1949, in Atlanta, Georgia, David's life journey took him to many places, but he found peace in Sharpsburg, Georgia, where he spent his final days.

David was a man of incredible warmth and kindness, whose spirit touched everyone he met. His professional journey saw him as an accountant for Holliday Inn, a role in which he demonstrated integrity, diligence, and a meticulous eye for detail. However, it was not just numbers that captivated David; his true passions lay in the vibrant tapestry of life's simple pleasures and meaningful connections.

A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, David held firm to the values of service and dedication throughout his life. He loved the great outdoors and found joy in nature while walking his beloved dogs under the open sky. Classical music often filled his home, providing a serene backdrop to a life well-lived. Yet, David wasn't just a lover of serenity; he also relished the thrill of Bruce Lee action movies, embodying both grace and strength. He also loved his John Deer mower, burgers, beers and fries, swimming, you couldn’t get him out of the pool, and long walks down his favorite road Mahan Dr in Tallahassee Florida.

Family was the cornerstone of David's existence. He was an unwaveringly devoted father, husband, brother, uncle, and friend. Though preceded in death by his parents Earl and Edith Edwards, his wife Sheila Edwards, his son Paul Edwards, and his brother Greg Edwards, David's legacy lives on through those who survive him: his brother Richard Edwards (Nina), nephews Jason (Michele) Edwards, Perry (Viveca) Edwards, Eric (Misty) Edwards, Tom Edwards, and his son Scott Edwards, along with a host of extended family and lifelong friends.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Jonesboro.

As we say goodbye, let us find solace in knowing that David's life, like a beautifully composed symphony, leaves us inspired and grateful for having been part of his world.

We welcome you to provide your condolences, thoughts, and memories on our Tribute Wall.
