Diane C. Kahle

  KALIDA – Diane C. Kahle, 85, of Kalida, died 11:20 a.m., Saturday, July 5, 2025 at The Meadows of Kalida.  She was born January 27, 1940, in Landeck to the late Arnold and Margaret (Kill) Ellerbrock.  On October 1, 1960, she married James C. Kahle, who preceded her in death on July 28, 2012.

   She is survived by 6 children:  Julie (James) Meyerhoffer of Glandorf, Mary Jo (Ted) Furphy of Tucson, AZ, Cindy (Tim) Fitzgerald of Kalida, Jayme (Karen) Kahle of Tucson, AZ, Tricia (Rick Shafer) Loveland of Kalida and Eric (Terrie) Kahle of Grand Rapids; 18 grandchildren:  Jill (Adam) Vorst, Katie (Logan) Kaufman, Matthew (Hannah) Meyerhoffer, Lauren Furphy, DeAnna (Chris) Perry, Andrew (Natasha) Furphy, Allison Fitzgerald, Adam (Tracey Grahl) Fitzgerald, Jakob Kahle, Aaron Kahle, Phillip Loveland, Brooke (Alex Young) Loveland, Elizabeth Loveland, Christian (Hannah) Kahle, Caleb Kahle, Cole Kahle, Catrin Kahle and Camden Kahle; 14 great-grandchildren:  June, Maggie and Thomas Vorst, Clara, Grace, Levi and Emma Kaufman, Cillian and Keira Perry, Mariana, Andrew, Jr., Elizabeth, Adeline and Josephina Furphy, and one on the way; 2 step-grandchildren:  Trevor and Tanner Huddleston; 2 sisters:  Doris Tenwalde of Ottawa and Bonnie (Denny) Wolke of Dandridge, TN.

   In addition to her parents and her husband, she is also preceded in death by a brother-in-law,  James Tenwalde.

   Diane was a homemaker.  She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida and its C. L. of C.  Diane enjoyed playing cards, baking, flowers, as well as ceramics and pottery.  She also enjoyed sewing and needlework and was known for volunteering.  Her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

      Diane’s funeral mass will begin 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 11, 2025 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Joseph Varghese and Fr. Travis Kahle officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, with a rosary service starting at 7:30 p.m. at the LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
