It is with both sadness and celebration of life that we announce the passing of James Stanley Boss, who left us peacefully on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on November 28, 1947, in Lawrenceville, Georgia, to the late Horace and Bonnie Vaughn Boss, James lived a life marked by deep devotion to his family and a lifelong passion for the great outdoors. James was also preceded in death by his brother, Steve Boss.
James was the beloved husband of the late Gloria Jean Boss, with whom he shared more than 56 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2019. Together, they built a life rooted in unconditional love and filled with cherished memories. He is survived by his devoted son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Heather Boss, who continues to carry forward James's legacy of kindness, integrity, and strength.
An avid outdoorsman, James found true joy in nature and the thrill of adventure. He had a special passion for shooting sports and spent many fulfilling hours at the Wolf Creek Gun Club, honing his skills and enjoying the camaraderie of fellow enthusiasts. For James, the outdoors was more than a hobby-it was a way to connect deeply with those he loved.
James enjoyed a long and successful career in the truck leasing industry, where he formed lasting friendships and mentored many. After retirement, he treasured the opportunity to spend quality time with his family and to fully embrace the hobbies he loved. He instilled in those around him the enduring values of hard work, dedication, and generosity of spirit.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 3:00 pm until 4:00 pm in the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory. Funeral services will follow immediately at 4:00 pm with Pastor Matt Kasper officiating. Entombment will follow at Peachtree Memorial Park. Friends and family are welcome to celebrate the remarkable life of James and to share treasured memories.
James's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. As we gather to honor a life well-lived, may we remember the joy he brought to our lives and the lasting memories he created under open skies and among those he loved.
