Mr. Boyce Tucker, age 81, of Lyons, entered the courts of Heaven on Saturday, July 5, 2025 after a sudden illness. He was born in Greenville, South Carolina, while his father was serving in the military. He grew up in Augusta, graduated in 1962 from Richmond Academy, and earned an Associate degree from Southern Polytechnic in Marietta. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. After his military service, he continued his education at Southern Polytechnic, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. He worked with Georgia Power in Lawrenceville for eight years. In 1977, he moved to Toombs County to work with Altamaha EMC for the next twenty-six years, retiring in 2004. After retirement, he and his wife Frances moved to Asheville, NC, returning to Lyons in 2011. Boyce was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia where he served as a deacon. At the time of his passing, he attended Journey Community Church in Vidalia and River of Life Outreach Church in Lyons. His interests were genealogy research, woodworking, working on sound and lighting systems at River of Life, and as a labor of love, working on countless projects for his family and friends. He had a strong love for Jesus, a passion for music and art, and loyalty to his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Benjamin “I. B.” Tucker and Clara Belle Bray Tucker; and a brother, Kenneth Richard Tucker.
He is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Frances Tucker; two daughters Stephanie Williams and husband Tommie, and Meredith Brodnax and husband Tom; five grandchildren, Madison Beverly and husband Alan, Emma Williams, Tucker Brodnax, Jack Williams, and Katie Lee Brodnax; and two great-grandchildren, Hagan and Wrenna Beverly.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
A graveside funeral service will be Wednesday morning, July 9th, at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Cemetery, 13799 Hwy. 37, Adel, Georgia. Pastor Clint Williams will officiate.
