John Joseph Flora, Jr. Obituary

John Joseph Flora, Jr., 76, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 5, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born to the late John Joseph, Sr., and Marion Flora, John was a devoted husband, father, PapPap, and mentor to many.

John earned his bachelor's degree from Penn State University and moved to Maryland's Eastern Shore in 1990. He spent over a decade working for Perdue Farms, where he touched the lives of countless colleagues. He was a mentor to many, both inside and outside the workplace, always willing to lend a hand.

He was proud to have held a second-degree black belt with his son, a fifth degree black belt. Together, they taught community members their passion out of their studio. John also had a passion for firearms and shooting, especially IDPA competitions. He enjoyed loading bullets with his friends and family. In his earlier years, he loved spending time at the beach, being out on the water fishing, and hunting. He loved cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and looked forward to Sunday football meals with his family.

Music was another source of inspiration, whether it was Lynryd Skynard or old country songs. He loved whatever moved his soul, even in his final days. He was passionate, genuine, and profoundly caring. His selflessness and strength were an inspiration to all and something his family is deeply proud of.

John shared 56 beautiful years of marriage with the love of his life, Jeanie Flora. Married in 1969, theirs was a rare and enduring love that served as a strong foundation for their children and grandchildren. His devotion to Jeanie was unwavering, and they were truly inseparable. They were each other's person.

In addition to his wife, Jeanie, he is survived by his loving children, Candice and Dominick (Kelly), and was a proud "PapPap" to Dominick Jr., Bella, Gracie, and Grace. John's greatest joy came from being with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Beth.

Funeral services will be held privately for family only.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), www.help.dav.org, or Off Street Sports Performance, www.osspathlete.com

Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, P.A., 501 Snow Hill Road.
