In Loving Memory of Jimmy Earl Talley
Jimmy Talley, a man of unwavering faith, was born on May 18, 1941, and passed away peacefully at the age of 84 at his home on July 5, 2025.
Jimmy’s entrepreneurial spirit was evident from a young age, whether it was selling peanuts or shining shoes. This drive and determination, which he carried through his professional career in retail sales, where he dedicated 25 years of service to Sears Roebuck and Co.
On February 2, 1975, Jimmy was led to the Lord by his brother-in-law, James Curtis Fountain, a moment that laid the spiritual foundation for his lifelong devotion to Jesus Christ.
Jimmy became a member of the Assemblies of God, where he found strength and a sense of purpose. Later in life, he answered a deep calling to ministry, graduating from the Berean School of Bible in Religious Studies. In April 2010, he became a certified evangelist with the Assemblies of God- a role he cherished and fulfilled with heartfelt devotion.
Jimmy’s life reflected the values he held dear- faith and family. His deep passion for his faith led him never to miss an opportunity to share God’s word- whether in the pulpit, nursing homes, casual conversation, or to simply by living his life as an example of Christ’s love. His dedication to spreading the gospel was evident in his every action, from his humble conversations to his powerful sermons.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his father, John Talley, and his mother, Claudia Walker Toole, as well as his two older brothers, Johnny and Gerald Talley.
Jimmy’s love for his family was unwavering. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Virginia, and their three daughters: Jennifer Talley, Ginger Talley, and Leah Talley (Wayne). His grandchildren- Carson Maria Talley, Cameron Victoria Talley, and Francisco Daniel Perez- were the pride and joy of his life. His family was his anchor, his source of joy, and his most incredible legacy.
He is also lovingly remembered by his brother and sisters, Gary, Barbara, Barbara Jordan, Tim, Dan, Gloria, Jackie, Kathy, and his sister-in-law, Judy Fountain. His favorite cousins, Ronnie Talley and Retired Colonel Dan Smith, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, members of his church family, and many dear friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m., at First Assembly of God, 135 Bell Rd, Montgomery, AL. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until service time at the church.
