Emma L. Shaffer

  CONTINENTAL – Emma L. Shaffer, 71, of Continental died 6:20 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025, at her residence.  She was born November 17, 1953, in Georgia to the late Theodore and Virginia (Bear) Kuhn.  On October 4, 1986, she married Kenneth Shaffer, who preceded her in death on June 28, 2006.

   She is survived by 2 daughters:  Lana Pitney and Erin Rose; 4 grandchildren:  Haley (Nick) States, Sierra Rose, Emily Rose and Cheyenne Rose; 3 great-grandchildren:  Elainie, Xavier and Adalyn; and 3 siblings:  Paula Craig, Marie Rohrs and William Kuhn.

   Preceding her in death are 2 sisters:  Carol Sherry and Dianne Brinkman; a brother:  Richard Kuhn and a step-brother:  Mike Merz.

   Emma retired from Walmart, Ottawa and attended the Dupont First Church of God.

   Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental with Pastor James States officiating.  Burial will follow at Monroe Cemetery, Continental.  A visitation will be held on Saturday from  11 to 1 p.m.
