Duane Iben Hayes passed away in his home, surrounded by friends and family, on July 5th, 2025. He was born December 19th, 1962 to parents Milton H. Hayes and Nancy H. Hayes of Hampton, VA.

Duane married Dale Hartman Hayes on May 26th, 1984, and they have three daughters: Ashton, Whitney, and Rileigh.

Duane served the Lord faithfully and strove to share the message of Christ through his teaching and study. A driven individual, he worked hard to create a strong foundation for his family and created meaningful friendships throughout his journey in life. Duane was always active and enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing, playing music, and entertaining friends and family as much as possible.

Duane was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. ​​

He is preceded in death by his parents: Milton and Nancy Hayes. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Dale, his sister, Cindy Dellinger, his brother, Charles Hayes, and his three daughters: Ashton Hayes, Whitney & Kyle Wagner, and Rileigh Hayes. He is also survived by his two grandchildren: Grayson and Charlotte.

The family will hold visitation at Bucktrout Funeral Home on July 10th, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Services will be held at Gospel Way Baptist Church on Friday, July 11th, 2025 starting at 11:00 AM.
