Michael A. "Mike" Peavler, 74, of Olney, IL, passed away at his residence on July 5, 2025 in Olney, IL.
Mike was born March 5, 1951 in Danville, IL to parents, Lawrence Peavler and Minnie Mae Peavler (Bell). He married Martha (Richardson) Peavler on July 6, 1968 in Olney, IL. Martha preceded him in death on July 27, 2023.
Mike worked at Prairie Farms for 28 years before retiring and then went into business with his family at Peavler Trucking for the last 25 years.
Mike was a longtime Elks Member and was a past Exalted Ruler. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with his weekly golf group. Mike also took pleasure in traveling with his wife, going to Vegas several times a year and his annual golf trips.
Mike enjoyed his weekly get togethers with family members, watching grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting activities, and his 9 AM coffee group.
Michael Peavler is survived by his son, Allen (Lona) Peavler of Olney; grandchildren, Michael A. (Micah) Peavler III, and Blake A. (Jillian) Peavler; great grandsons, Peyton, Joseph, and Lucas Peavler and great granddaughter, Collins Peavler; brother, Steven Peavler; sisters, Donna Hahs, Debbie Perrigan, and Darcie Oubezza; and all his nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Peavler; parents, Dick Peavler and Minnie Mae Brown; and daughter, Elizabeth Peavler.
Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney has been entrusted with arrangements.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kistler-Patterson Funeral Home in Olney.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Olney.
Interment will take place following the Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Olney.
Memorials can be made to the St. Joseph School Foundation Trust.
