Nina Sue Hobbs

June 11, 1955 – July 5, 2025

Nina Sue Hobbs, age 70, passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, July 5, 2025. She was born on June 11, 1955, in Cordele, Georgia, to the late Robert and Irene (Gill) Gordon.

In addition to her parents, Nina Sue was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alan Mitchell "Mickey" Hobbs, Sr., and her siblings.

Nina Sue was known for her warmth, work ethic, and joyful spirit. She spent many years serving her community at the Big Chic in Fort Valley before becoming a pharmacy technician at Taylor County Drugs, now Knight's Pharmacy. Her colleagues and customers alike remember her for her kindness and dedication.

A devoted fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs, Nina Sue found joy in cheering on her favorite teams. She also loved reading, playing Bingo, and spending time with family. Of all her roles in life, being "Nana" to her granddaughter Sara Kate brought her the greatest happiness.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Mickey Hobbs (Jennifer) of Byron, GA; her granddaughter, Sara Kate Hobbs of Byron, GA; siblings, Ophelia Qualls of St. Petersburg, FL, John Gordon (Teresa) of Cordele, GA, Janice Rofail (Elia) of Sarasota, FL, and Walter Gordon (Kathy) of Fitzgerald, GA; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

The visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Burpee-Scott Memorial Chapel & Crematory. Graveside services celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at 10:00 am at Hillcrest Cemetery in Reynolds, GA with Pastor Tommy Beeland officiating.
