Michael T. Mackiewicz, age 81, of Plymouth, Ma., formerly of Brockton, passedaway at the Plymouth Rehabilitation & Health Care Center July 5, 2025 after a long illness. He was the son of the late Dorothy (Bedore) and Michael Mackiewicz of Brockton.Michael is survived by his brother Wayne and sister-in-law Linda of Bourne.

He was predeceased by his wife, Helen, his sister, Maureen, his brother, Arthur, and sister-in-law, Audrey. He leaves behind his nephews and families, Eric Mackiewicz of Arlington, Va., Sean Mackiewicz of Los Angeles, Ca., and Keith Mackiewicz of Bellingham, Wa.

Michael was a graduate of Brockton high school, class of 1961, and a member of the Brockton high 1960 State championship football team. He was a Vietnam veteran serving with the United States Army and later joined the Metropolitan District Commission Police Department and Massachusetts State Police. He moved to Plymouth in 1996 with his wife, Helen. He enjoyed playing cards Friday nights with friends and family. He loved running barefoot and riding his motorcycle. His two favorite sports teams were the Chicago Cubs and the Detroit Lions.

Funeral services will be private and he will be buried at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, in Bourne. .
