Mrs. Laursdine McLamb Lee, age 83, of  Newton Grove passed away  at Transitions Lifecare Hospice of Raleigh on July 5th, 2025.   

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 8th at 12:00PM in the Dunn Funeral Home Chapel in Newton Grove.   Officiating will be Rev C. H. Lee and Rev Horace Johnson. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM-12:00PM at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will follow at Unity Presbyterian Church of Newton Grove, NC. 

Mrs. Lee was born on April 1,1942 in Johnston County, NC to the late Tilghman and Lela Mae Tart McLamb. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Seth Lee Jr., a brother James Leonard "J.L." McLamb, a sister Geraldine McLamb Ivey "Jane" and beloved "fur baby" of seventeen years  "Suzie."  She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins

And a special friend, past and present, John Bennett Jr. 

Following high school graduation, she worked at the shirt factory in Benson, Erwin Denim Plant in Erwin, sewing plants in Newton Grove, and Bowman Enterprises of Benson completing fifty years with a dedicated work ethic.  

A multi-talented lady who paid attention to details, and a talented seamstress, years ago, she made curtains for a number of people and designed specialty dolls.  She and Seth Jr lovingly cared for their home and lawn in great detail and her front walkway and other brick paved areas surrounding their lovely home were created by her with perfection.

She was a proud and loyal graduate of Meadow High School and closely maintained friendships with classmates and looked forward to class reunions. 

In their early years of marriage she and Seth enjoyed travels to the mountains, beach and Florida. Although they never had children of their own they gave special attention to nieces and nephews sharing mutual love and admiration. 

During her life, she faced numerous severe illnesses with courage, strength and determination overcoming again and again. She embraced  life with a positive attitude and remarkable resilience. Her inspiration will live on in all who were blessed to know and love her.  

The family would like to thank Transitions LifeCare Hospice of Raleigh for the loving care given to both Laursdine and her family during her final days and a special thank you to new friends Cindy Coleman and Joanne Fore..."our silver lining" for their knowledge, unconditional love and support over the last months.
