Alexis Andrea Curtis was born in Hamilton, Ohio on March 11, 1977. She was the daughter of Lowanda Curtis and the late Pastor Ruebin S. Curtis. To this union were 4 girls known as “The Curtis Sisters” a name given to them by their father, Pastor Ruebin S. Curtis. Alexis was the 2nd child out of 4 siblings. Alexis' nicknames were Lexi & Lecky.  

Alexis graduated from Hamilton High School, Hamilton, OH, in 1996, where she received her diploma. Alexis was a beautiful person, inside and out, and had long beautiful hair and loved to sing and dance. 

Alexis Curtis gave her life to Christ at a young age and led one of her first solos with Mt. Ebal Church choir.  “The Curtis Sisters” would often go with their father to sing as he ministered, and Alexis was the lead singer of “The Curtis Sisters”. They would sing songs like “Heal the Land” and “Ain't No Need to Worry What Tonight is Going to Bring".

She was gifted to sing. Even as a child, Alexis was recognized by Harrison Elementary School, Hamilton, OH for her talent where she received musical awards. She also sang for Harrison Elementary School Rainbow Kids and led a solo for Martin Luther King Jr. Day Event at the BTW Community Center in Hamilton, OH.  Alexis made history by being the first to be a part of Harrison Elementary School Show Choir. 

Alexis loved to sing for the Lord!  She participated in several Church Choirs and Church Praise Teams.  In 1988 -2004 Alexis was a member of Community Friendship C.O.G.I.C Choir. In 2004 – 2012 Alexis was a member of Word of Life Ministries Choir.  In 2014-2016 Alexis was a member of the New Harvest Praise Team.   

She was an outstanding basketball player and athlete. Alexis' father taught her how to play basketball and was her basketball coach for a summer basketball camp league.  She played basketball for George Washington Junior High School and Hamilton High School.   She also received many basketball awards. 

She brought so much joy to her family, and she would laugh and giggle at everything. She loved to cook, especially during the holidays.  Alexis would bake every type of cake and goodies like her mother.  She was known for making her famous pasta salad. 

Alexis had three gorgeous sons, Torrez Curtis, Da’Rez Curtis, Truves Postway, and one beautiful daughter, Halla Curtis, and one handsome grandchild, Ty’rez Curtis.  Alexis loved her children, and her family and friends.  Alexis loved the TV series “New York Undercover” so much, that she named her first born son Torrez Malik Curtis after the two main characters.  

Alexis had a variety of jobs, but she spent her last days as the Chef for Cedarview Nursing and Rehabilitation 2022-2025, and she worked for Liz Claiborne 2009-2014.  Alexis started her own Dessert in the Jar business “LECKY” on July 13, 2024. 

Alexis would often quote Psalm 23, and her favorite color was yellow.  Alexis A. Curtis was preceded in death by her father: Pastor Ruebin Curtis; her grandparents: Joseph & Mattie Kate Curtis and Walter & Betty Jean Weathers; her uncles: Robert Jean Henderson, George Curtis, Norman Curtis, Dean Curtis, Walter Weathers II. and Norman Weathers and her aunts: Ann Henderson and Deborah Curtis Ross. 

She leaves to cherish her memory: her four children: Torrez Curtis, Da’rez Curtis, Truves Postway and Halla Curtis; one grandson: Ty’rez Curtis; her mother: LoWanda Curtis; three sisters: Robin Curtis of Sharonville, OH, Erica Curtis of Colerain, OH and Tawana (Mike) Myers of Fairfield, OH, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends will miss her greatly.
