After a courageous 3-year battle following a catastrophic accident, Kyle passed peacefully on May 29, 2025.
Kyle was born on August 27, 1986, to Curtis and Dea Lenz. He grew up in North Idaho, with an adventurous soul and wild spirit. He attended school in Coeur d’Alene and earned his GED, so he could quickly pursue his hands-on passions. He inherited his father’s love of fast cars and always dreamt of rebuilding his next Chevy. Kyle spent many years working as a tire technician, where he eventually met the love of his life, who just happened to be the boss's daughter.
Kyle married that boss's daughter, Cheyanne, in 2016, and they went on to have two boys, Kason (8) and Kolby (6), who were his absolute pride and joy. After losing his father when he was just three months old, Kyle was determined to create lasting memories with his own family. He was always dreaming up his next adventure, which usually included building, climbing, jumping, shooting or hanging from something. For Kyle, if there was no risk, there was no reward. Because of Kyle's fearless nature, he was always testing Grandpa Cliff on how to get the job done. It was never a good day when he had to tell Grandpa he had buried the tractor or had flipped the four-wheeler… again! His ultimate dream was to be a contestant on American Ninja Warrior, leading him to build his own backyard course made from recycled material found on the ranch. In 2021, he left the tire business to pursue construction, which encompassed his greatest passions of building, drawing and woodworking.
Although Kyle was full throttle, he had a compassionate and loving soul. He thought deeply about every memory made, gift he gave, and person he came across. His infectious smile and goofy charm were sure to light up any room he walked into.
Kyle is preceded in death by his father, Curt; Aunt Ginni; and Grandpa Cliff. He is survived by his wife, Cheyanne; sons, Kason and Kolby; Grandma Darlene; mother, Dea; brother, Cody; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members and friends.
A celebration of life will be held July 12, 2025, at 5:00PM, at Trinity Lutheran Church (812 N Fifth St., Coeur d’Alene 83814). Hors d’oeuvres and fellowship to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to help support the kids’ future.
Details on the memorial fund will be shared soon at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com, or you can contact Cheyanne or Robin Lenz for more information. The family is grateful for your support in securing a bright future for Kyle’s children.
