Hamilton:
Frances I. “Fran” Fox, 87 of Gorton Rd., passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Community Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 15, 1937, in Harpursville, a daughter of the late Ralph E. and Martha (Vroman) Noble and received her education in local schools. On May 10, 1961, in Norwich she was united in marriage to Walter E. Fox.
Fran worked as a waitress in Norwich before managing the cafeteria at Hamilton Central School for over 30 years until her retirement. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, reading, crocheting, thrifting, loved her ice cream and going out to breakfast for her bagel with cream cheese and bacon, “The Frannie Special”.
Surviving are her husband, Walt; three daughters and a son-in-law, Cheryl and Chris Tyler of Chittenango, Julie Crandall of Canastota, Linda Martin of Chittenango; grandchildren, Shawn Wallace and Fiancée Lisa Stoutenberg, of Guilford, Luke Martin of Chittenango, and by two great-granddaughters, Paige and Thea.
She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Matthew Martin, grandson, Brett Wallace, sister Marie Collar and brother John Noble.
A celebration of Fran’s life will be held at a later date and will be announced.
There are no calling hours.
Internment in the Poolville Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
