Jo Anne was born on May 27, 1951, in Ft. Lauderdale, FL to Joseph and Jean (White) Conley. She held a BS degree in Horticulture and was very respected and sought after in her craft. She married her husband, Bryan Miller, on September 3, 1995, in Big Sur, CA and was an incredible loving and loyal wife. Jo Anne provided steadfast support for her husband during his service with the U.S. Army. She was a fantastic chef and prepared meals for Army Family Readiness Groups and other military associated groups and interfaith religious groups. She loved to garden and leaves a legacy of trees and perennials at over ten residences across America. She loved to host family, neighbors, and friends in her home. She loved and fed many folks in her time and could feed over 900 soldiers with only three ovens and a stovetop. She set up command family picnics and holiday parties throughout the years with the US Army. She hosted orphaned servicemembers of the U.S., Philippines, and Canada during holidays and high holy days. Recently she hosted bankers new to Texas at her home with holiday dinners. She fed everyone with no regard to status, rank, or who they were. She was also akin to St Francis of Assisi with her care of animals and was known to stop her car and take injured ones to the veterinarian. Over the years, she adopted numerous animals and consistently provided for their needs without hesitation. She adopted her three cats by feeding them as strays. Her deep spirituality, patient endurance, and kindness were her greatest traits.
Jo Anne was a Roman Catholic and attended the Episcopal church services with her husband.
In addition to her husband, Bryan, she is survived by a sister, Mary Titus, and numerous nieces, nephews, and a great niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Mr. Michael Conley.
Following the memorial service there will be a gathering at the family home. As a living tribute to her big heart and wide circle of friends, the fare will be Vegetarian, Halel, Kosher as well as Italian.
