David E Grow Jr, age 66, passed away peacefully at Mat Su Regional Hospital on April 27, 2025 surrounded by family & friends during his three weeks stay there.

David was born and raised in Palmer, AK and graduated from Palmer High School in 1976. He was active in drama, choir and was an accomplished pianist with a God given talent for playing by ear. After hearing a song, it wasn't long before he mastered it at the keyboard.

David worked at Alaska Bank of Commerce in Palmer after graduation, Title companies in Anchorage & Fairbanks, then in customer service at AT&T. Upon moving back to Palmer in 2004, he was later employed at Knik House as a Resident Assistant & Admin Assistant from 2016-2022, along with various other odd jobs over the years. Co-workers described David as a precious jewel who knew how to brighten someone's day. He enjoyed helping others who shared in the same struggles he experienced over his lifetime.

David was a member of the LDS church after high school and served a two-year mission in Reno, NV from 1978-1980. In 2000 he became a member of Muldoon Community Assembly (MCA) in Anchorage & after moving back to Palmer attended Highway Chapel Church of God & Kings Chapel in Wasilla. David was also a recent member of Palmer Lions Club & enjoyed serving at Kids Kupboard.

David will be remembered by family & friends as being a joy to be around with his hallmark sense of humor. He had a big heart, often putting others before himself. David was a loyal friend with a forgiving & humble spirt. His nephew, Derek, called him "Uncle Fun", as the word NO was not in his vocabulary. David loved watching music & comedy videos often sharing them with all of us. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to warm or tropical places. His most adventerous trip was to Sydney, Australia in 2003 with MCA for a church conference. We will all miss his quick wit & humor that he injected into almost any situation, even during his last weeks of life.

David is preceded in death by his parents, David E Grow Sr & Jacqueline M Grow. He is survived by his sisters, Sally Weiland, Judy Morrison, Glenda Ingram, Gail Edgerton & brother, Michael Grow, as well as many nieces & nephews.

A Celebration of Life BBQ & potluck will be held a the home of Sally Weiland (360 View B&B 2105 S Weiland Rd Palmer, AK) on June 7th, 2025 (David's Birthday) from 12pm-3pm. All friends and family are welcome to come share food & memories in honor of David.

David will be buried at Palmer Pioneer Cemetery at the Grow gravesite with his paternal grandmother & his parents. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Knik House 7362 W Parks Highway Wasilla, AK 99623
