Laura May Stanley Obituary

Laura May Stanley, age 42, passed away on April 27, 2025.

She grew up in Gladwin—a town she loved and never left. Laura spent most of her career in the food service industry, always ensuring those around her were well fed and cared for. A homebody, she found her greatest joy in spending time with her children and fiancé, often with her favorite songs playing in the background—songs her family came to know by heart.

Laura was a devoted mother, daughter, partner, and friend. She had a sharp, unpredictable sense of humor that kept everyone on their toes—you never quite knew what she was going to say, and that was part of her charm. Her quick comebacks and hilarious observations could light up a room and leave everyone laughing. Her quick wit, vibrant personality, and unwavering loyalty left a lasting impression on everyone who was fortunate enough to know her.

She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Donna Glasgow and Betty Stenger, and her grandfather, Homer Stenger.

She is survived by her fiancé, Kevin Stead; her children, Ethan Bashur and Reese Kordones; her mother, Cindy James; her father, Victor Stanley, and stepmother Marilyn Stanley; her sister, Tara (Guenther) Thyen; and her brother, Michael (Nicole) Stanley.

A celebration of Laura’s life will be held: Friday, May 23, 2025, 3–7 PM Sage Township Hall 1831 Pratt Lake Rd, Gladwin, MI 48624
