Donald M. Baldwin Age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Senior Star at Weber Place. Survived by four nephews, Richard H. (Patricia) Johnson of Jacksonville, IL, Jerred W. (Melanie) Johnson of Plainfield, Robert D. Johnson of Joliet and William B. (Darlene) Ashton of Platteville; one niece, Barbara A. Ashton of Joliet; numerous great nieces and nephews; a special cousin, Jay Gregory; a brother-in-law Jack Ashton and a nephew-in-law, David Berg. Preceded in death his wife of 60 years, Joyce E. (nee Peterson) Baldwin (2017); his parents, Paul M. and Alice R. (nee Brown) Baldwin; his sister, Jean Ashton; a niece, Jill J. Berg and a sister-in-law, Marilyn R. (late, Robert) Johnson. Born and raised in Joliet and attended Joliet Public Schools. Don served in US Navy from 1950 -1952 as a Seebe in Trinadad. Don was a deeply devoted husband and loving uncle. He was a well-known painter in the Joliet area (having worked on the rialto renovation) and worked for Blockson Chemical, Talaga Construction and various other contractors in the Joliet area. He also volunteered countless hours at the Joliet Elks Club. Don enjoyed his two dogs “Blitzin” and in recent years “Fritz”. You could always find him working around his house and well-kept yard. He will be deeply missed by his family. The family would like to thank the staff of Senior Star at Weber Place and Seasons Hospice for their kind and loving care to Don. A Memorial Visitation and Service will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home and Crematory, 2320 Black Road, Joliet on Friday, December 15, 2017 beginning at 10:30 am until time of services at 11:00 am. Private inurnment at Woodlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Trinity Services of Joliet Building Fund would be appreciated.
