Sabra L Yasovsky Obituary

Sabra L. "Nana" Yasovsky, 90, of Bellefonte, fell asleep in death on Friday, May 9, 2025. Born on June 23, 1934, in Philipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Laura (Burton) Melius. She was married John S. Yasovsky on December 24, 1953.


Sabra was a 1952 graduate of Philipsburg Area Joint High School. She was self-employed and ran a residential cleaning service for many years. And was a member of the State College Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness.


Sabra was committed to serving Jehovah. She served many hours a day, bringing others to know his presence and the rewards in serving him. She was very active in the Congregation.


Sabra enjoyed puzzles, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.


Sabra is survived by two daughters-in-law: Janet Yasovsky of Bellefonte and Jorja Yasovsky of DuBois; four grandchildren: Matthew Yasovsky of Florida, Michael Yasovsky and his wife, Amanda, of Bellefonte, Tonya Yasovsky of Mifflintown, and Ryan Yasovsky of Bellefonte; and one brother, Henry Melius of West Chester.


Along with her parents, Sabra was preceded in death by her loving husband, John, two sons: William G. Yasovsky and David C. Yasovsky; two brothers and two sisters.


A celebration of Life will be held at a later time at the State College Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness and will be announced.
