Janet M. Lewis Obituary

Born August 8, 1935 in Scranton, PA to John and Wilhelmina Bierwirth.

Graduated from Scranton Technical High School in 1953 the proceeded to Lackawanna College and the University of Scranton where she achieved her Master’s Degree.

She was happily married to Kenneth G Lewis for 60 years.

Janet was employed by Penn Dot Engineering District office in Dunmore, where she was a supervisor. Also, she was a part time professor at Lackawanna College.

Janet was a resident of Clarks Summit Senior Living and prior to that she was a life long resident of Dunmore PA.

She was very active in the community, especially at the Dunmore Senior Center, she was also an avid dancer and an accomplished artist with Pocono Painters. When Janet wasn’t spending the hobbies, she loved spending all of her time with family and friends.

She is survived by her 3 children: Ken Jr and wife Margie, Aberdeen MD, Evan and wife Ann, Clarks Summit PA, and Jeannine and companion Ed Felinski, Hummelstown, PA. Also, her 4 beloved grandchildren Joseph, Jennifer, Michael and Matthew plus numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 24th at St Peter's Lutheran Church – 1000 Taylor Ave Scranton PA at 9:30am followed by her burial at the Dunmore Cemetery, Dunmore PA.
