Mitsuka Paula Whipkey, 89, of Vienna died Monday February 18, 2019 at Hannah's House in Marietta. She was born in Tokyo, Japan a daughter of the late Keikichi and Mito Kobayashi.
She was an EMT for Calhoun General Hospital and retired from TDK Tapes.
She is survived by her husband Baine Whipkey; daughter Paula Yoak; three sons Michael W., Gary D., and Charles A. Smith; stepsons Dane and Charles Whipkey; step daughter Lottie Grande; granddaughters Shannon, Nichole, Haley, Tiffany, Dena, Ashley, and Lauren; grandsons Todd, William, Jack, and Chase; great grandchlidren Sydney, Wesley, Rylan, Emersyn, Bodin, Aubryn, Dylan, and Haden; great great grandchildren Dylan II and Ellie; brother Tomio; and sisters Mieko, Yukie, and Yoshko.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers Shoji and Hiroake; and sisters Kazuko, Yasako, and Michiko.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019, 11:30 at the Victory Baptist Church in Granstville, WV with Pastor Steven Carter officiating. Internment of Ashes will be at the Smith Family Cemetery, Kerby Ridge, near Hur, WV.
