LoVerne Z. Kasper of Lumberton passed away on April 27, 2025 at Virtua Memorial Hospital in Mount Holly. She was 82.
Born in Luzerne, PA, LoVerne was a longtime Lumberton resident. She and her late husband, John, moved to Lumberton in 1979 when they bought their mini-farm and house. For many years they had cows, goats and their beloved pony, Silver. She cherished family time and quality time together, especially in Ocean City. LoVerne was also a longtime member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church in Hainesport. She loved to read, loved the beach and enjoyed playing the slots. LoVerne was an avid Phillies fan and witnessed them winning their first World Series in 1980. She was the founder of the Catholic Daughters of America in Riverton. For a time, LoVerne wrote a column for the Palmyra News. She was a Friend of Bill for over 40 years. LoVerne was also known for her beautiful penmanship and for the letters she wrote to friends and family over the years.
The daughter of the late Stanley and Lillian Zarnowsky, LoVerne was predeceased by her beloved husband John; She is survived by a son Christopher and daughter & son-in-law Rebecca & Charlie Shemeley all of Lumberton. She was the mother of the late baby Joseph. LoVerne is also survived by her grandchildren Johnathan Town and Emmie Town, and her brother Robert Zarnowsky of Philadelphia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Thursday, May 15th at 11:30 AM at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Marne Highway, Hainesport. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 10am – 11:30am at the Church.
