Joyce E. Charette Obituary

Joyce E. Charette, 84, of Windsor Locks, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

Joyce was born in Hartford, daughter of the late Zigmund and Blanche (LaValley) Kondzior, raised in Windsor, and graduated from A.I. Prince Technical School. After high school, she embarked on the career she was always most proud of, that of being a loving and dedicated mother. Joyce was a School Bus Driver for over 16 years, so she could work around her boys schedules, and then accepted a position with Kaman Aerospace as a Security Guard, retiring after over 20 years of service. Her strong work ethic and drive inspired her family to be the best they could be every day. Joyce dedicated a large part of her life to serving the Lord and, for over 45 years, was a faithful member of Full Gospel Interdenominational Church in Manchester.

Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be fondly remembered as a kind and compassionate woman with a big heart who loved her family more than anything. She taught her sons the value of faith, family, discipline, respect, and how to treat people the way you would want to be treated. Joyce supported their dreams, attended all their events, and celebrated their accomplishments.

Affectionately known as "The Bubbly Redhead," Joyce had a wonderful personality, a great sense of humor, and loved to joke around. She was a wonderful cook and especially loved cooking traditional Polish dishes. In her younger years, she loved to play Wiffle Ball with the kids and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Joyce leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Joel Charette and his wife Paula of Stafford Springs, Jonathan Charette of Rocky Hill, and Jody Charette and his wife Karen of Windsor Locks; her grandchildren, Kristin Miner and her husband Matthew, David Charette and his wife Nicole, Shane Charette, Meagan Charette, Mikaela Charette, and Jessie Charette; her great grandchildren, Wesley Miner and Emilia Charette; her siblings, Diane Kondzior, Thomas Kondzior, Ann Hallgren and her husband Gus, Rita Lewis and her husband Bill, and Frances McChesney; her sister-in-law, Sue Kondzior; as well as other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Eddie Charette; and her brother, James Kondzior.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday, June 7, 10-11 a.m., with a Celebration of Life, 11 a.m., at The Lodge Community Chapel, 130 Deerfield Rd., Windsor.

Burial will be private.
