Robert "Bob" Earl Cook

Robert “Bob” Earl Cook was born on March 15, 1940, in Macomb, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Saturday, December 12, 2015, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 75. Bob, the son of Leonard Earl and Edna B. (Brown) Cook, was a long-time resident of Prague. He graduated from Prague High School and then attended NEO in Miami, OK. While at NEO, he was a member of the Junior Rose Bowl National Championship Team and was inducted into the NEO Football Hall of Fame. Bob transferred to Central State University and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in education before proudly serving his country in the United States Army from 1963 to 1965. Upon discharge, Bob furthered his education with a Master’s degree from Central State University. He married Sharon Adele Royer on July 18, 1968. He was a teacher, coach, driver’s education instructor, and administrator for many years in Manford, Snyder, and Davenport before retiring from Prague in 1995. After retiring, he continued to work on grounds maintenance and as a bus driver for Prague Public Schools where he supported further generations of Prague students. Bob was a member of the First Baptist Church of Prague. He loved watching bull riding and Hallmark movies. He loved fishing, going to church, and going to ball games, supporting anything that involved the children of Prague. He also enjoyed spending time with his little buddy, Toby. Bob is preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Dale Lee Qualls. Survivors include: his wife of 47 years, Sharon Cook of Prague; daughter, Bobbie Denise Qualls of Howard, KS; granddaughter, Courtney Lyn Smith of Edmond; brother and sister-in-law, Jvon L. and Pat Cook of Prague; nieces and nephews, J.R. Cook, Chase and Jennifer Cook and Janon Gosnell; other numerous family and friends. The family has requested that memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123. The Cook family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 15, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2015, at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Prague with Bro. Tim Emmons and Bro. Scott Hamilton officiating. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
