Myron Gene MANNEL Obituary

Myron Gene Mannel

12/21/1944 - 04/26/2025

Myron was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Martha R. Paden-Mannel (09/08/2019.) Myron is survived by: his son and daughter and their spouses - Dan G. Mannel and his wife Shawna N. Mannel, Cherrié M. Duchi and her husband Mark A. Duchi; his siblings – brother, Ken Mannel and his sister, Marilyn Agee, and their families; his granddaughters – Summer and Dawn and their families; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.

Myron was a loving father, and his death will cause an empty place in our hearts and daily lives. Although I stood several inches taller than my father, he was the tallest man I knew. He raised his family on good old fundamental Bible beliefs taught to him from his mother and father. Myron grew up on a wheat farm in Meeker, Colorado, learning the meaning of good hard work with his big brother Ken and older sister Marilyn.

Their entire family put the Lord first in their lives, and He blessed them with everything they needed. Sometimes, with good times, come rough ones. Myron came down with a severe case of the Polio virus when he was a young boy, that crippled his legs. Through much rehabilitating and excruciating therapy, administered by his loving mother, Roberta, he eventually learned to walk again.

Though able to walk, Myron was plagued by pain and physical and mental setbacks caused by his bout with Polio, throughout his life. He was not a candidate for the Armed Services, so Myron went off to attend an aviation trade school in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Myron worked at many aviation, mechanic/machinist related jobs throughout his life; and while being successful in them, he never lost his pure love for working on airplanes and for flying them.

Myron had more friends than he realized. If you were lucky enough to make a friend of him, you had a friend for life.

I don’t know how long this deep pain will last Dad; it increases more every moment since you were called home. You taught Cherrié and I that if we believed in Jesus and turned our lives over to Him and accepted him as our Savior that we would all be rejoined in Heaven, someday. We love and miss you so much. We hope you know just how proud we are to have had you for our father. Please give Mamma a hug and kiss, from her kids, and tell her we love her and miss her so much!

Psalm 147:3 states, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds".

I love you Pops,

C-ya soon….

-Dan

Myron's wishes were to have his ashes spread at Twin Peaks Bible Camp, in Collbran, Colorado, where his Wife Martha’s ashes were spread. Other directions were for closest family members to attend a small ceremony at a time and date yet to be determined.
