Marjorie Ann Son

Marjorie Ann Son was born on July 31, 1932, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and departed this life on November 12, 2015, in Edmond, Oklahoma, at the age of 83. Marjorie, the daughter of Thomas and Marjorie (Dodd) Cassady, was a resident of Edmond. She married Leon D. Son on October 5, 1951, in Oklahoma City and they remained married until his death in 2013. They co-owned the Meeker Variety Store for many years. Marjorie enjoyed gardening, sewing, playing the piano and organ, painting and traveling. Marjorie’s parents, husband, brother and sister preceded her in death. Survivors include: daughters and sons-in-law, Dee Ann and John Burling of Oklahoma City, Telva and James Judd of Meeker and Holly and Johnny Chambers of Newcastle; 3 grandchildren and their spouses; 8 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; sisters, Carolyn Beavers of Oklahoma City and Donna Knol of Edmond, OK; other family and friends. The Son family would like to express their appreciation to the caregivers at Autumn Leaves of Edmond and Sooner Hospice. The family has requested that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association through the Oklahoma Chapter, 2448 E. 81st Street, Suite 3000, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74137-4250 or online at www.alz.org. Viewing/Visitation will be held at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker on Friday, November 13, 2015, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Pastor Ron Crews officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
