Beatrice Mabry Obituary

Beatrice Mabry was born to Susie Body and Willie Arthur
Caldwell on December 31, 1942. She was educated in the
Birmingham city school system. She confessed her life to
Christ at an early age. She served as a member of the usher
board at Greater New Bethel Baptist Church, where she was a
member until her passing. Beatrice was a loving and devoted
wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a strong woman who
loved her family dearly. She leaves behind a lifelong legacy as
the family matriarch after the passing of her mother. Those
that knew her well knew that her favorite word was “B**ch!”
She mainly used it as a term of endearment. If she truly loved
you, you were on the receiving end of this word at some point.
The “HBIC” has dearly departed and is not resting in the arms
of her heavenly father.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life and husband,

Wallace Mabry. She was also preceded in death by her great-
grandson, Carmaine Mabry; brother, Larry Croskey; and

sister, Idella Smitherman.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her only son, Carlos Bruce
Mabry (Kewania Mabry) of Birmingham, Alabama; two
granddaughters, Carlisha Mabry and Carlaysia Mabry, both
of Birmingham, Alabama; one grandson, Tedarius Mabry of
Birmingham, Alabama; six great-grandkids, Carmen Mabry,
Carmelo Mabry, Carden Hall Mabry, Carter Yarbrough,
Carleah Combs, and Cario Mabry, all of Birmingham,
Alabama; six sisters, Dovetta Williams, Joann Sherman, Willie
Mae Addison, Susie Holt, Robin Whitaker, and Vanesta Bibb,
all of Birmingham, Alabama; two brothers, Walter Croskey,
Jr., and Terry Croskey, both of Birmingham,
