Mitchell Wayne Smoger, 72, of Philadelphia, passed away on April 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 4, 1953, Mitch graduated from Northeast High School and briefly attended Temple University. He went on to build a long and successful career at SEPTA, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication in a variety of roles.
He is survived by his sons, Eric (Elisabeth) and Greg Smoger; Catherine (Hartman) Smoger; his mother, Ruth (Gross) Smoger; and his sister, Laura (Smoger) Jacobs.
A loyal fan of all Philadelphia sports, Mitch especially enjoyed following the Phillies. He also had a lifelong appreciation for classic westerns and military films.
A private memorial will be held by the family.
