Marilee Elizabeth Vanassche, 84, of Marshall, NC passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025 at the Care Partners Solace Center in Asheville. Born March 13, 1941 in Wayne County, MI, she was a daughter of the late Leo Charles Vanassche and Marion Haigh Vanassche. She spent her younger years in Michigan. She loved to travel, ski - snow and water and was avid fan of the DETROiT RED WINGS. She moved with her children to Florida , then ended up moving to North Carolina. She retired from NTCA and was an avid antique collector and Civil War re-enactor. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Todd Allan Schultz, and brother, Douglas Vanassche. Surviving are her children, Mark Schultz and his spouse, Gloria, of Pittsboro, NC, and Elizabeth Nolen of Charlotte, NC; siblings, Marie Brockmiller and her spouse, Ken, of Clay Township, MI, and Christopher Vanassche and his spouse, Connie, of West Palm Beach, FL; Grandchildren, Jesse Schultz of Boca Raton, FL, Lauren Summerville and her spouse, Zack, of Shelby, NC, Lesley Phillips of Concord, NC, Matthew Phillips and his spouse, Kyrae, of China Grove, NC, Thomas Schultz of Pittsboro, NC, and Jonathan Schultz of Monroe, NC Danielle Schultz of Boone, NC, and Great-Grandchild, Sadie Allen of Concord, NC.

No formal services will be held. Memorial donations may be made to the Asheville Humane Society, 14 Forever Friend Lane, Asheville, NC 28806.
