Audrey E. French (nee Cobert), 91, of Elyria, died Saturday April 26, 2025, at Life Care Center of Elyria surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 1, 1933, in Uniontown, PA. She has been a resident of Elyria since 1968 and formerly resided in Uniontown and Grafton. Audrey was employed for thirty years at Modern Tool & Dye Company, Valley City, retiring in 1998. She formerly attended North Eaton Baptist Church.
Audrey loved to sing and enjoyed singing while her husband John played guitar. She and John were avid campers and had a camper at Claremar Twin Lakes Campground for years. Audrey also enjoyed playing cards and, most of all, taking care of her family.
Audrey is survived by sons, Ed French (Shellie Kernell) of Vermilion and Larry French of Elyria; grandchildren, April (Roy), Eddie, Larry, Bobby, and Tina; five great grandchildren; a brother, Bill Cobert and sisters-in-law, Stella and Phyllis Cobert.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2016 and a son, Robert “Bobby” in 1990; parents, Charles and Helen Cobert; brothers, Melvin, Tom, and Dale Cobert, Bill and Bob Groves; and sisters, Jean Wright, LaVerne Lindsey and Judy Wiener.
A graveside service will be Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11:00 am at Brookdale Cemetery, Elyria.
