Mary Arletta McInnis (St. John) “Letty” passed away peacefully on April 23, 2025, at the age of 96. She was born in Island Falls, Maine on May 5, 1928. Daughter of William Cecil St. John and Augusta St. John, and sister of William St. John.
She was married to Charles William McInnis and had four children: Donna Jean McInnis, Charles William McInnis, Jr., Mary Anne McInnis, and Paulette Denise McInnis (Zaniboni). She was a loving and proud grandmother to Michael Cecil Zaniboni and Mitchell Steven Zaniboni, sons of Steven Michael Zaniboni and Paulette Denise Zaniboni.
Letty graduated from Somerville School of Nursing and had a long career as a registered nurse. After graduating from nursing school, she worked at Boston City Hospital and later for Plymouth County Hospital, and Wingate. After she retired from Plymouth County Hospital she worked in Nome Alaska for 6 months at The Norton Sound Regional Hospital. She led a very adventurous life, travelling to many places across the globe. She was a lover of animals, especially horses, and had many animals at her Halifax home, including chickens, pigs, sheep, cows, and horses. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren at her beloved camp “Shady Rest” on Lake Mattawamkeag in Island Falls, Maine.
A Memorial Mass, Celebration of Life will be held at Saint Joseph Parish 272 Main Street Kingston, MA. 02364 on May 10, 2025 at 10 A.M.
Services will be scheduled in Maine later this summer.
