Bonita "Bonnie" Hitch, age 70, of Greenwood and formerly of Milford, passed away on April 27, 2025 at the Country Rest Home surrounded by her loving family. Bonnie was born in Salisbury, Maryland on November 4, 1955 to the late Jennings and Madeline Williams. Bonnie was raised in Laurel and graduated from Laurel High School's "Class of 1973"; and after graduation she attended Brandywine College. She married her loving husband Walter Hitch in 1981 and they have celebrated 43 years of marriage. Bonnie retired from the Delaware Transit Department as the Director of Civil Rights; she had over 24 years of service and enjoyed traveling with her career as well as meeting many wonderful friends along the way. Collecting lighthouses and dolphins was a favorite pastime, but embroidery was Bonnies passion, and she was so talented with this craft that many people called on her to embroider for them. She would make custom embroidered clocks, towels, pictures, Christmas ornaments, clothing and so much more. Everyone looked forward to receiving the special Christmas card that Bonnie would create each year. and personally send out. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Walter Hitch; brother, Ed Williams (Sandy Anken); sister, Cindy Williams; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and her beagle Peanut also survive her.
