Kenneth Greene, Sr. was born to Arthur Greene, Sr. and Margaret (Edwards) Greene in Newark, New Jersey on November 12, 1939. He transitioned and went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at University Hospital.

Kenneth was the Fifth child of seven children who attended the Newark public school system and then graduated from East Side High School, where he met and married the love of his life, Geraldine “Gerry” (McNeil) Greene in 1963. From that union was born Kenneth (Junior) Greene, Jr.,and Anthony Wayne Greene, Sr.

Kenneth worked and retired after 25 years of service as a dry-cleaning presser. Unfortunately, his injury on the job led to early retirement; one of the things Kenneth enjoyed after retiring most was driving his wife, Geraldine, his mother-in-law, Ms. Aileen McNeil (pre-deceased), and later in life, his brother Arthur Greene, Jr., to appointments, shopping, etc.

Kenneth was musically talented as well. He played drums for various bands at several clubs throughout Newark, New Jersey for some time in his young years. He loved playing so much that he would drive around with his drums in his trunk. He also taught his sister, Patricia how to play as well.

Kenneth was pre-deceased by his mother Margaret (Edwards) Greene, his Father Arthur Greene, Sr., his siblings: Arthur Greene, Jr., Lewis Greene, Carlton Greene, Sr., his sister Patricia (Greene) Dickens and Ronald Greene, Sr. Kenneth is survived by his sister, Frances (Greene) Hayes and sisters-in-law Dorothy (Carlton, Sr) Greene and Rose (Ronald Sr.) Mitchell. He leaves to cherish his two sons, Kenneth (Elaine) Greene, Jr., and Anthony Wayne Green, Sr. His six grandchildren: James Goode, James Johnson, Candace Greene, Jared Greene, Latoya Jones, Anthony Greene, Jr. , six great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
