Richard Andrade III Obituary

In Loving Memory of Richard “Rick” Andrade

We are deeply saddened to share the unexpected passing of Richard Andrade, at the age 50 on April 26th, 2025. A devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Richard leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, joy, and dedication to those he held close.

He was born June 6, 1974, in San Antonio, Texas to Richard Andrade, Jr. and Nora Alicia Cervantes.

Richard is survived by his beloved wife, Leticia P. Rivera Andrade and his son, Armando Ismael Rivera, who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his loving parents, Richard Andrade, Jr. (Irma) and Nora Alicia Ontiveros (Donald). His siblings Nina Andrade (Ralph), Xavier Andrade, Chris Andrade (Vanessa), and Victoria Ontiveros (Jonathan). He leaves behind many adoring aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Celestino and Lupe Berzosa and his maternal grandparents, Francisco B. and Lila N. Cervantes.

Richard better known as “Rick” or “Ricky,” will be remembered for his kind heart, his selfless spirit, and the joyful presence he brought into every room. His laughter often accompanied by his signature giggle, had the power to lift spirits and bring people together. He loved deeply, gave generously, and lived with purpose. He spent his career in the healthcare field as a surgical technician and registered nurse in the operating room, where he provided care, comfort, and dignity to countless patients. Rick worked at Doctor’s Regional, Bay Area, and Christus Spohn Hospitals. Rick was a true caregiver, not just by profession, but by nature. He put others before himself without hesitation and was deeply respected and loved by his colleagues and the many lives he touched.

Though we mourn his loss, we take comfort in the love he gave and the example he set. His life was a testimony to faith, courage, and compassion.

Richard was a light in the lives of all who knew him. His warm smile, infectious laugh, and gentle spirit were gifts he shared freely with the world. Though his time with us was far too short, the depth of his impact will be felt for generations.
