Anthony J. Wukas, of Oak Lawn, died April 26, 2025, after a brief illness. He was 91.
Beloved longtime companion of Lisa Smith, loving uncle to one admiring nephew and five adoring nieces, great-uncle to 10 nieces and nephews, and dear cousin to many.
Born and raised in the St. Jerome Croatian Parish, he stayed connected to childhood friends.
He served as an MP in the U.S. Army and worked as a salesman of cars and commercial properties.
Tony lived an active life: He earned a pilot’s license, skied with elan and played racquetball up to his last year of life. His innate generosity and love of people found him many friends, who will miss his grin as well as his sly wit.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 17, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Gerald Parish, 9310 S. 55th Ct., Oak Lawn.
