Barbara M. Tarasiewicz (nee Cheski) passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at the age of 87.

Barbara was the beloved wife to Theodore “Ted” Tarasiewicz for 66 years. She leaves behind her children Lisa Stitz (Dalton) and Mark Tarasiewicz (Carlo), as well as her granddaughter Lauren Gottschalk (Timothy) and great-granddaughter Ava.

Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She graduated Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls in Philadelphia, where she was elected Class President.

Married on June 28, 1958, Barbara and Ted raised their children Lisa and Mark in their Northeast Philadelphia home of more than 60 years.

Barbara had a career of more than 20 years as a Medical Assistant for Frankford-Morrell Medical Center. She enjoyed swimming, dining and travel with her husband, family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Barbara’s family on Monday, May 12, 2025 from 9:00 AM until her Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Calvary Church, 11024 Knights Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19154, followed by Interment at St. Dominic Cemetery, 8504 Frankford Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19136.

In lieu of sending flowers, contributions in Barbara’s name may be made to Our Lady of Calvary Church or Bryn Mawr Hospital Foundation.
