Sandra Geesler Walker
July 17, 1941- April 26, 2025.
Sandy was the oldest child of Floyd D. and Katherine (Hurteau) Geesler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother F. David Geesler III and her husband of 61 years Robert.
Sandy is survived by her daughters Shannon Walker and Kerry (Ron) Walker-Pickering. Her brother Bryan (Nancy) Geesler, and Sister-In-Law Gerry Geesler. 13 nieces and nephews, 28 Great nieces and nephews, cousins and a large chosen family.
Sandy graduated from SUNY Albany in 1963 as a history teacher and finished her Masters in Library Science at SUNY Geneseo in 1965. Sandy was the Elementary Librarian for Avon Schools for 32 years.
Bridge, Crossword puzzles, and reading a great book were just a few of her passions. She made a difference in her community as a member of Avon Community Cares, Zion Episcopal Church and was one of the Founders of Zion House.
Calling hours will be Friday, May 23, 2025 from 3-6pm at Stephenson-Dougherty Funeral Home in Avon. A service of celebration will take place at 11am Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Zion Episcopal Church 10 Park Place, Avon. Interment Avon Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
