Shirley Ann Borella 81 of Hudson and formerly of Vermont and Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at the Reservoir Health Center, Marlborough surrounded by her loving family.

Shirley was born in Marlborough, the daughter of the late Thelma (Maurice) and Primo

Borella Sr.

She graduated from Chandler Secretarial School and earned her BA from Framingham State College. Shirley worked as a Legal Secretary for many years at firms in Boston and New York.

Shirley is survived by her 2 nephews, Carl Borella and his wife Heidi of Hudson, Robert Borella Jr. and his wife Lynn of Worcester, 2 nieces, Karen Borella Carraher and her husband Michael, Melissa Borella Chevrette and her husband David all of Marlborough, her sister-in-law and best friend for over 70 years, and devoted care giver, Carol A. Borella, and many great and great-great nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.

She was predeceased by her 2 brothers, Primo Borella Jr, Robert Borella Sr., and her sister Janet Borella.

Shirley loved to travel. She was proud of her Italian heritage and travelled to Italy several times to visit relatives and learn about her family’s history, which she passed along to her nieces and nephews. Shirley also enjoyed cooking and gardening and was an expert seamstress. Above all else, Shirley loved her family, which she demonstrated by spending as much time with them as possible and taking the children on various adventures.
