Orval A. Bullock, 87, of Hendersonville, NC and formerly Des Moines, IA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 27, 2025.

Orval was born July 8, 1937, in Des Moines, IA to the late Oral and Wilma Bullock. He served two years of active duty was the US Army and 18 years with the Army National Guard at Camp Dodge, where he retired as a Master Sergeant. He then worked for RR Donnelley as a Drafting Engineer for 25 years until he retired. After six months, he realized retirement wasn’t for him and went to work at Parts Unlimited for 21 years in Hendersonville, NC. Orval was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling with his wife, Linda. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of almost 35 years, Linda Bullock; children, Karla Bullock, April Paxton (Jim), and David Bullock (Jennifer); stepson, Brian Van Fleet; sister, Karen Calvert Scisco; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11:00am at Mills River Presbyterian Church, 10 Presbyterian Church Road, Mills River, NC 28759. Pastor Megan McMillan will be officiating. The burial will be in Iowa Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
